Police Need Help Stopping Church Burglaries

Posted:

(SIOUX CITY, IA) Sioux City Police need your help to stop burglars from breaking into local churches. Police are investigating five church burglaries in the past three weeks. The most recent was Thursday night in the Morningside neighborhood off of Sunnybrook, plus churches on Indian Hills Drive, West Clifton, and two on Military Road. Sheds or garages are broken into and snow blowers, lawn mowers, and yard equipment are stolen. Police believe the five incidents are related but they need more information.

"A lot of our big cases have been solved by simple little phone calls of people reporting something that just seemed a little bit out of the ordinary and they've blown open cases that we've been investigating for weeks or even months. So we rely a lot on that partnership that we have with the public," says Jeremy McClure, Sioux City Police Department.

If you have any information that could help the investigation, please call Crimestoppers at 258-TIPS.
