(VERDEL, NE) One man is dead and another is seriously injured after a weekend crash near Verdel,  Nebraska. It happened Saturday, when the Knox County Sheriff found a Hamilton SNB-5 plane burned in a field northwest of Verdel. The passenger, 37-year-old Daniel Johnson of Lynch, Nebraska was found dead at the scene. The pilot, Richard Nielsen, also of Lynch, was taken to the hospital but his condition is not known. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.
