Revival Animal Health: Warehouse Expansion

Posted:

(ORANGE CITY, IA) Revival Animal Health is expanding, making room for new employees. The expansion comes just a few years after its warehouse went up in the heart of Orange City's industrial park.

Revival Animal Health is nearly doubling its sales office, after building its new 29,000 square foot plant seven years ago.

"The huge impact or the springboard for revival in this second 10 years later is actually this facility built in 2003," says Timm Funk, Revival Animal Health CFO.

The pet products company will celebrate 20 years in business this month.

"Pet products is a $50 billion a year industry," says Funk.

The business now has nearly 60 employees in Orange City and Mapleton, Iowa. It ships 15,000 packages a week and brings in $24 million in revenue.

"While it is a tough economy and in the short term, it may get a little tougher, we believe things will get better and we want to be ready for when it does," says Roy Nielsen, Revival Animal Health President & CEO.

Being ready means 5,400 square feet of new space and the ability to hire and house up to 20 new employees.

"It's often said that 80% of new jobs that are created are created from businesses that expand," says Lyle Korver, Orange City Development Corporation President.

President Roy Nielsen admits Revival isn't where he hoped it would be but the expansion is his chance to help fulfill Orange City's motto: imagine the possibilities.

"So why do it now in a tough economy when competition is tougher than it ever has been? It's because it's time for us to imagine the possibilities again," says Nielsen.

The 100-acre Industrie Centrum is only one of the ways Orange City is attracting businesses. The city recently completed its downtown streetscape project. And next week voters will decide on the $4.5 million Phoenix Project.
